Hi All,
Just wondering if anyone can help us out, im looking for the ( N.C.B / British Coal_ Area Codes) used to for there areas/groups as ive a list of Colliery names from 1947 onwards ie,: SYK was South Yorkshire...NEA was North East Area....ect,!!!!!! ive got the Divisions and Numbers but its the three letters area/group im looking for to cross refer where the actual pit was.. thanks

No John, I have them from here, its the 3 letter for the area where the colliery was in, if I could ive done an example to upload but is there a way to do this, thanks

Stan Can't help then Stan, maybe one of the old senior mine officials who are members here might be able to shed some light on the issue?

After '86 they became Groups - CEN, Central (?) - M&W, Midland and Wales - NE, North East - NTS, Notts - SCT, Scottish - SEL, Selby - SYK, South Yorks - and BET, Betteshanger, stand alone pit in no group.
