Anyone remember all the divisions and area numbers and what pits were in each area? I was in East Midlands Division, south Notts No6 area and we had Babbington, Clifton, Calverton, Cotgrave, Hucknall No2, Bestwood, Linby, Gedling, Radford and Wollaton pits. Area HQ and workshops were at Bestwood and area training centre was Hucknall No1 pit.

Have you a link to the NCB area's Daz??? I've spent ages over the time trying to locate NCB organisation to no avail..
Some of your areas were pretty big by the standards applied to the Midlands areas.

Sorry 'J' I haven't a link to the other areas, just the Yorkshire ones I posted and I'm not sure if that is complete to be honest.

The following is a list of mines that I know existed at the time of 'vesting' but were perhaps integrated into other collieries at that time;
Barley Hall Pummer’s Main Thorpe Hesley (Surviving Smithywood) Skier Springs (Later part of Rockingham) Platts Common (Hoyland Silkstone later part of Rockingham)
Collieries opened after 1947;
Royston Drift Riddings Drift Kinsley Drift Kellingley North Selby Wistow Stillingfleet Whitemoor Gascoigne Wood Riccall
There are probably even more that have slipped my failing mind.

Better judgement..hmm, well done it and we will see what it yields. I've requested 1947, circa 1960 and towards the end under British Coal. Someone must have a book with the NCB organisation within it among that crowd...
