Hi, I am an ex Miner from the Lancs area. I worked at the Bickershaw Complex, Agecroft & finally Parkside Colliery. I was one of the last intake of apprentices to be taken on by British Coal in 1987. My last shift was in Oct 1992. I have since become a video director in the music industry. After work at Agecroft which was 3 miles from Manchester city center I would often go see a band. I saw very early Stone Roses & Happy Mondays gigs...Manchester bands Then the pit shut...The lid was put on & I enrolled at Manchester's School Of Sound Recording.Worked on over 200 live music shoots for TV & DVD in the UK. Mining was a great job but I wouldn't go back now. I am 41 years old.
