Loose all was a term for the end of the shift but where did it come from? Up North we used to call it Lowse. Definition from dictionary.com. to release. loose. to finish work. lowsing time. the time at which work or school finishes; knocking off time. I remember someone used to rap lowse on the signals so those in hearing distance and without a watch knew it was time to go home. How did it go again??? HTL.
