Can anyone tell me if there is a list of occupations that exist for miners in the late 1940's - Mid 1950's I don't personally know of a list, but the names of pit jobs varied from coalfield to coalfield, even pit to pit in some areas. Even under the old NCB, job names were different from Division to Division. |

I remember seeing an old publication listing wage rates for various occupations down the pit under the NCB but it could have been regional
