I'm supposed to be retired, on 80 acres of land and still building a house. Hobbies?? Ham radio when I can get around to it! I like to read a good book, love woodworking. My day starts with seeing the wife off to her office, then I feed the chickens, get me brekkie and the days my own to decide what to do and in what order.
An ambition is to do the rounds of the flea markets and yard sales and look for old radios, (broadcast). Refurbish them complete with a cabinet once over and sell them for profit, working as well as they did when they were built.

Mick Haven't got to that stage yet Mick, just wished I had. My pastime, when the solar cycle is right, and I get around to getting some aluminium back up in the air, is chatting to fellow hams around the world. I have a lot of money invested in equipment thats gathering dust at the moment, plus several towers lying on the floor outside. There's over a thousand bucks worth of antenna and rotator on the top of one tower I have up, but the feedline, (co-ax) cable is open circuit right at the top!! Just haven't the inclination or time to sort it out yet. Then I have a few VHF antennas to go up, a six metre antenna, plus one antenna I have to rebuild that belonged to a mate of mine who passed away a couple of years back now.

My real interest started at 70 years of age. After some 38 years living in a mining area, I moved to the High Peak (a quarrying area0then tool up a challenge to 'Come and Sing'. The male voice choir from Tideswell put out a plea for 'some 40 men to come and form a choir'. This lead to the joining of the actual Choir. (I'll add 10 years to your life' said our MD. Met chaps of all ages and professions and found a terrific hobby.
