Shendong Shangwan Coal Mine in northern China
The video shows how the then world's first 8.8m cutting height shearer and hydraulic supports worked underground. It was shot in 2019 with the target audience of mining major students.
The 8.8-meter shearer rolled out in February 2018 at CCTEG Shanghai and was put into operation in March at Shendong Shangwan Coal Mine in northern China. The #12401 working face of the mine has been safely and smoothly completed on September 4, 2019. It kept in production for 533 days, producing a total of 18.537 million tons of coal. It set a new world record of daily production of 58,400 tons and maximum monthly production of 1.46 million tons. Compared with the 7m high mining height machine of the same coal seam, the 8.8m mining height recovered 4.05 million tons more coal, the extraction rate increased by 20.2%, and the extraction work efficiency reached 1050 tons/worker, creating the world's record in 2019.
On July 23, 2019, CCTEG made another breakthrough. The 9m cutting height shearer model MG1100/3050-WD is an intelligent equipment developed for mining 7-9m extra-thick coal seam in one go, with a total installed power range of 2750-3450kW and an annual production capacity of 16 million tons, which also sets two new world records of coal mining height and installed power.
