If you're not a lawyer you probably have no business acting like one in certain instances. Even experienced lawyers typically do not represent themselves in court. Also, attorneys tend to specialize in one or more legal practice areas, such as criminal defense or tax law.
A solid case can quickly unravel without the help of a trained and emotionally detached attorney. Similarly, failing to hire a lawyer when starting a business, reviewing a contract, or embarking on other endeavors with potential legal ramifications can result in otherwise avoidable pitfalls.

The irony of your post is, everyone's supposed to know the law, if you don't how do you know when you're committing an offense?? "Ignorance is no defense in law"!!! The vast majority if not all, don't know the law either, including Judges, that's why large law firms employ researchers and their own law library.

It is also why there are so many convictions because the police don't know the law either, they rely upon self incrimination because of this ignorance and give their interpretation of what they think the law is and hope they can get you to self incriminate and its instant money; it is all about money and nothing else and a self incrimination is instant money with no work or effort on their part.
They tried to stop me and told me it was a "routine stop sir", no such thing as they need reasonable suspicion so there is no such thing as a routine stop, I drove off because once they commit an offence then anything else is invalid. They radiod to their control room and said I refused to stop, bloody liars, and three traffic cars came out and tried to surround me, I stopped and they arrested me and read me their caution, remember the first line, "you do not have to say anything" so keep it shut and say nothing, and the last thing is "do you understand" which is actually a different language called legalese in which a word has a different meaning, in legalese it means "do you stand under my authority" and if you say yes you're screwed so its always no and they enter into their well rehearsed rhetoric of trying to get you to say yes.
Unlawful stop means anything else is invalid, so being arrested is invalid and in law is "unlawful detention" so not the common law offences against them are mounting up, next custody "name sir" f**k off, they can only act against the name and you have the right to remain silent so remain silent and never give your name and let them lock you up, they will ask you for your picture, DNA and fingerprints, so again f**k off, they are actually YOUR intellectual property and they need your consent to obtain them so refuse it.
Charged with several offences and opted for Crown court with a jury, did I need a solicitor or advocate? no, I have several covert cameras in my vehicle and they all have audio, I defended myself and suddenly the jury questioned why 8 po-lice with body cameras couldn't supply any footage, why custody had both its outside and seperate inside CCTV systems down, why the po-lice only disclosed what they wanted to disclose instead of everything I demanded, then I played the video and it showed the original stop was unlawful, the claims of failing to stop were unlawful, and the jury were on the edge of their seats with so much po-lice corruption and lies.
Not guilty and a civil tort against the po-lice, easiest £7500 I ever made.
