Perhaps because I read things differently to many, I have to admit that I believed the statement of Randal Mc Cloy, one of the Sago survivors, when he originally said that not all of his workmate's Self Rescuer Units had functioned correctly at the time of the original escape attempt. This statement was in fact 'PooPoed' to some extent when the original SCSRU's in question were examined by the manufacturers and declared as being 'Useable, Functional and Adequate', some months after it seems that independent investigation shows these same units to be at least 'Suspect' and that others of the same type and manufacture have proved to be inadequate in performance. Are the same type of these so called Self Rescuers still in use, and if so, why?

I believe there's a multi million dollar class action lawsuite in progress Daz, against the manufacturers of the rescuer in question.
