Am I going mad? I'm sure there was a legal requirement for every colliery to have a 'covered way' i.e an area out of the elements where support, fire, ventilation and other notices were displayed, but I have searched for an hour and found no references to it. Odd thing to be looking up, but we have a notice board at our Heritage Centre we would like to adopt for this purpose and the obvious place to start is the need for it.

Doh! Covered accommodation! No wonder I couldn't find it. My first pit, the notice board and copies of the extracts were on the way out the lamp cabin where we filled our water bottles up. Don't recall where the were at Cotgrave, probably in the Deployment centre, Mick would know, he'll answer that one when he logs in.
