You could be right Jim, what is almost a certainty is that the results of the Neath autopsy will very likely make mention of Offa. I hope that the "stop" is temporary as stated and that everything is back up and running shortly but in the meantime, is it wise to be seen sharpening a hatchet ?

They won't open any new coal mines as the EU won't allow it and cite their usual B/S of environmental legislation, which most of us know is a kop out, then they will cite the cost of running a coal mine and the huge subsidies and generally play on whatever costs they can, then claim its cheaper to import coal and that will be the end of it, they may appear to go through the motions but there is another more pressing concern and that's fracking.

One problem with the coal mines re-opening would be the likes of Greenpeace and friends of the earth. They have kicked up a big fuss over fracking with some very dodgy science and scaremongering. Imagine what they would do about mines opening up!?

It will have nothing to do with them as it will be the real hidden power which will prevail and this is the EU; they were the ones behind the closure of the mining industry to make the UK reliant upon the EU for energy as this is another form of control they have to force us to comply.

Looking back on the original post - now nearly a year ago where are we? Yvette Cooper's grab for the Labour leadership got nowhere, (she'd the nerve to turn up at the Kellingley march after doin' almost nowt to save it - couldn't be because to TV cameras were there could it?). Clean coal got nowhere - then again the nuke boys are having troubles of their own. Jezza seems to have forgotten about the coal industry now, in fact he's probably forgotten about Wales, (after all it's not in the S.E. so it doesn't matter anyway), and he's now busy 'strutting his stuff' in a fake fur coat Liberace would have been proud of ! I wonder what Nye Bevan, sat on his fluffy cloud, thinks when he looks down on the current Labour lot?

Interesting point, but exit from the EU means no environmental legislation to worry about, the possibility to invest in clean coal technologies and use it, and the prospect of the EU cutting our gas and electricity supplies will sharpen many minds when the heating does off along with the lights.
