For some odd reason, Jim is having trouble posting, so he sent me his original post....
Hello , my name is Jim Robinson from Trimdon Station ,Co Durham, I am the vice chairman of Deaf Hill miners lodge banner group , we are also members of the Durham miners community group who put on several activities to raise money for restoring old or damaged pit banners among other things to do with mining including the Durham miners gala. As you are aware this year is the 30th aniversary of the 84/85 strike it is also the 130th aniversary of the Durham miners gala. Our aim this year is to have as many miners banners paraded through Durham city as possible and would be over the moon if we were joined by people and banners from other coal fields such as Yorkshire. Our banner (Deaf Hill)will be lead into Durham by a band that has done us proud over the last 3 years and comes from West Yorkshire (Knottingley Silver Band) so if anyone would like to follow us with your miners lodge banner you will be quite welcome, you can contact me via my email address wich is jpigeonr.unc@hotmail.co.uk and I will give you the details or ring 01429 880584 ask for Jim.
YOURS IN SOLIDARITY
Jim .
