When I was at Moorgreen Training Centre I saw loads of training films, the one that sticks in my mind is 'fire on 69's.' It was a sort of drama/documentary, I saw it three or four times. I wonder what happened to those films? I keep looking on you-tube to see if any turn up on there..

I have picked up some were salvaged, a few are on Youtube, some mining organizations salvaged some, you'll have to pay to subscribe to watch them though. IMHO, all should have been sold off to the public, I'd bet my old pit boots that they would all have been bought up.

All the films on the dangers of riding belts, get to Hucknall & just about all belts are manriders, couldn't be naughty if I wanted to. Mind you the Deep Soft/Black Shale intake drift belt was a bit fast, failed to get off it once & went through the safety bar, seemed to take ages to stop, but it did; eventually..

I was on the Cable Belt at Clifton after a nightshift, rode past the U/M going down the Stonehead Drift, thought he'd stop the belt and kick my butt for riding on mineral, but no, just ignored me. All our belts were passed for manriding under certain conditions, no riding on mineral, must have 12 feet in front and behind, must be facing the direction the belt was going, no horseplay, there were others, but forget them, other than you had to get on at the approved place and get off at the approved place...Yeah right.....
