Please everyone, don't acknowledge spammers. It's very difficult to assess if a new registration is a spammer or an honest registration. Many registrations LOOK dubious, but as the IP address checks out, usually, I go ahead and validate the registration. I automatically bar all Chinese registrations as so far 100% of them have proved to be spammers, and usually register with a company name of some product or other. I know they are a pain in the butt, but as soon as I log in and see the spam posts I remove them straight away.

I have to admit that over the last 30 years or so, my opinion has changed dramatically, I wouldn't have given given twopence for Chinese spanners, but in fairness their quality has vastly improved in recent years, I'd much rather pay a fifth of the price of Snap-on for spanners of only slightly less quality, so I'm afraid I have to give my personal support to Chinese spanners and other tools produced in the Land of Inscrutable Kitchen Units.

I think you're due for your annual eye check up at the Optometrist's Daz ;D

Ahhh well, who am I to argue with your missus.... If she's "owt" like mine, she's always right...or else... ;D

We tried some of this Chinese Spam - it was alright but you'd eat a canful then half an hour later you'd be starving. Final straw was finding a round metal disc in some - Mrs Li at our local takeaway kindly translated the Cantonese script on it - "Rover"....

Final straw was finding a round metal disc in some - Mrs Li at our local takeaway kindly translated the Cantonese script on it - "Rover".... I'm glad you brought that up shropshirebloke because it links nicely with the fact that eating dog meat has almost surely saved the lives of Chinese coal miners. The farming of St Bernard dogs for the sole purpose of supplying them to meet the dietry preference of many Chinese is now centred around Datong a major coalmining district of Shanxi. Redundant coal miners pooled money and with some local government assistance and encouragement started dog farming about 20 years ago, this in preference to going on to eke a living working dangerous illegal coalmines that abound in the area. www.siriusgao.org/Ananova.htmlwww.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/asia/china/1322431/Protest-over-plight-of-doomed-St-Bernards.html

Interesting links there Daz (had to persuade my spaniels to go into another room before I read them...).
The stuff about Swiss St Bernard breeders reminded me of something - have a look at "dog meat" on Wikipedia then scroll down to Switzerland.
