remotely operated machines are to be fitted with sensors that alarm when a miner is within 5' and shut down at 3' proximity, some mines are already working with this protection. Sounds like a great idea, I recall discussions being made in the UK years ago to look at similar principles, we ended up with a 'simple' water spray prestart warning systems instead ...... which caused a bucketfull of problems at first.
