Hi,
I'm looking for ex-miner's to be interviewed about the strikes in the 80s for a documentary that I'm producing at Sheffield Hallam University. The documentary is specifically about the feelings towards "Scabs" then and still now! We are also looking to interview any Scabs as well. No ones face will be on the screen, it will just be audio and if you didn't want to be credited then that is also fine.
If you are interested please email me or reply to this post with your name, your age, where you live and how you can be contacted.
My email address is: joshua.bailey@hotmail.co.uk
Many Thanks,
Joshua Bailey

It is an experimental documentary focusing on the emotions of the strikes. We want to stay away from the politics of the strikes as much as we can. The imagery on the screen will be of images relating to mining and the strikes using both archived footage and our own footage. Certain aspects of the interviews will be heard on the soundtrack. The interviews for now are mainly so that we can learn and try to understand the emotions that went on. We have already watched a few documentaries about the topic but the emotions don't seem to quite come out. We are aware of the extremity of emotion and we don't wish to provoke or cause upset, we just want to learn. This initial documentary is (we are hoping) just a stepping stone to making a series of documentaries completely based on the emotions involved. I'm not really sure what else you would want to know, if you ask specific questions it might be easier for me to answer! As for authenticity, I'm not entirely sure how I can show that to be honest! I will be having a meeting with the Director later on today (8th December) and I will see what we can come up with! We don't want to cause any unnecessary upset with what we are doing so please don't be shy to get in touch

Hi,
We haven't received any contacts from this site. Just to let you know who we have interviewed so far which may or may not give more autheticity to the project. We have interviewed: David Douglass, David Nixon, Harry Harpham, and John Cunningham and have their full backing for the documentary. Please, if you are interested in being interviewed get in touch with me at joshua.bailey@hotmail.co.uk
Many Thanks,
Joshua Bailey (Producer)
