These are generally recognised in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and Canada. Not sure what other countries recognise UK mining Elecs, Mechs and Class 1,2 and 3 tickets.

At a rough guess, most records have been destroyed, you could try the Coal Authority or what's left of the NCB/BC offices in London, I can't help with the address, but is Hobart House still used???
Who set the exams for the Tech's during your apprenticeship??? Maybe they have the records for those exams??? Mine were the EMEU in the Midlands.
Another thought, would the Mine Qualifications Board still have records???
Those are about the only suggestions I can come up with.

Hobart House was knocked down years ago, I dont think the coal authority would be any use, but I read somewhere an address for a British Coal records repositary at Cannock, Staffordshire.

Can't recall where I got this address from, it might even have been posted on this forum sometime in the past, but I have it listed as being the holder of NCB/BC workmen's records, might be worth a call first to check that they are the right people;
Iron Mountain Records Management

I think that the Cannock address is correct, I think it was the site of the old Mid Cannock colliery and then an opencast disposal point.
I went there once years ago.

I have a mate that works for Iron Mountain ,but he's at the Lofthouse site near Wakefield. When i see him next i will ask him if they do have them at Cannock. I was wondering if we are allowed copie's,if so do's it come under freedom of info. Mick.

Spoke to my mate today and the address that was posted is spot on. He also said that if you rung them there was a good chance they would sort it out and send the papers you want though the post. Mick
