I've been told there's an open weekend at Pleasley Colliery on 6/7 September. Maybe worth getting a bus trip up Bill, or perhaps if one of Northern members had a canal barge ready in time he could pick one or two of us up on the way down to Pleasley, can't see John bothering for just the two days though.

Canal barge sounds good to me Daz. With a little bit more rain we could float it down the M1 to Junction 29 then we could walk it from there.

Would be a nice day out Bill, pack of sandwiches, flask of tea, bag full of batteries and the old digital camera to record the site for prosperity!
