Climate change??? can anyone prove or disprove it as to date they haven't but have provided lots of evidence showing it to be a scam.
First the Pope saying it is a huge scam used to tax people for decades, not religious but when he said that my ears pricked up.
IPCC or Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change caught out doctoring reputable scientists findings and altering them from stating there was no evidence of climate change to there is evidence of climate change.
Then these reputable scientists who received Government funding all stopped receiving it; those saying what the Government wanted started receiving it and many simply got more funding, then the scientists gave the IPCC a simple ultimatum, print our conclusions correctly or delete the content, the IPCC refused so one scientist bought an action in the High Court against the IPCC and once he registered this action he was joined by many more scientists who received the same treatment and it turned onto a class action and the IPCC removed all their doctored content instead of going to court.
Sudddenly lots of taxes based upon climate change appeared and the first main one was VED based upon emissions, several issues here, it was based upon CO2 emissions instead of far more toxic elements such as Nitrogen Dioxides so why were the most toxic substances omitted? simple but relevant question and the simple answer is money as CO2 was the cheapest and easiest to tax but yielded the greatest financial returns as most people used cars and had to use them so were the ripe plum ready for picking and motor cars are easily taxed to fill Government coffers.
Then we have VAT on energy bills and as they are now regularly double dipping it was merely an extension of that; double dipping is where you are charged twice for something and you accept it so they get away with it. One example would be council tax which funds your local services and your local services are local car parking and remember you pay for this in your council tax, then you go to park up and they try to charge you to park in a car park you own and have already paid for in your council tax and people simply ignore it and again they get away with it.
Now we have the throw away society and this wastes more resources and uses many more materials and creates more pollution and simply cutting this out would improve the climate massively but they wont do this because too many politicians and their supporters and funding comes from this and like anything else if there is money to be made or is being made then it will continue to be exploited by the few for their financial benefit.
As for Whitehaven? its a coal mine and will open and provide more than coking coal, then more coal mines will open.

They say "leave the Cumbria coal in the ground." So we import the coal from far away using big diesel powered ships. Wouldn't it be less polluting to dig the coal here & save on the diesel fumes from the ships? Just my thoughts...

And a thought I agree with, and if we add in the throw away society in which we live it would save many resources and instant saving on pollution; but money is the motivator,
