Hello,
I am writing a fictional book that includes backstory in a coal mine in Pennsylvania, and I was wondering if there is an official name for the person in charge of explosives. Is there a nickname for the person who does this job, too? Any information would be fantastic!

Thank you, Jc At a guess "Powder Monkey" in the US, in both the UK and Australia he was known as a shotfirer.
