Good day all. I am researching various aspects of the UK's early mines rescue service and am curious to know whether brigades kept diaries or logs of their involvement in events. HM Inspectors reports hold scant details of actual recovery work so are interesting but not detailed enough. I am keen therefore to find out if any archives exist with details of the teams and the work they undertook in detail. Any help gratefully received.

You could contact the National Coal Mining Museum at Caphouse or contact the Mines Rescue Service at Mansfield

Hi Boaz. Thanks for taking the time to respond. I intend spending a few days at NCM Wakefield later this year so will hopefully find if they have any such records.
