I have spent the past four years researching, writing, editing and publishing this comprehensive history of the last coal mine in Warwickshire. It is a book designed to record the entire history of what became Western Europe's largest coal mine and one which went on to be the holder of the record for most production from a single coal face in just one year. This book explains what we did down there, how and why. It is written in a style which will enlighten the uninitiated as well as entertain the experienced miner. Personal anecdotes are interwoven with the story of the mine's progress to give the book a human dimension, and the triumphs, as well as the tragedies, are described in detail. The book is in A4 format with over 73,000 words, 36 photographs and 9 appendices detailing such things as every face with start & finish dates, full production history, all managers with their periods of tenure - likewise all Union Branch Secretaries, a record of all eleven fatal accidents with names, dates and locations and a four page glossary of mining terms used etc. The cover price is £14.95 and any surplus over and above production costs will be proportionately donated to The National Mining Museum for England and local mining charities. Postage and packing is limited to £2/copy inland. Enquiries can be made at: bobATblenkinsoppDOTfslifeDOTcoDOTuk (You'll know why I've presented the email address this way...)

Bob, even though this violates Proboards T&C's, I'll take a risk in allowing it unedited, on the grounds it supports charities.

Thank you John! I did check before I posted the comment about my book but honestly thought I was acting within the rules of the site - I apologise unreservedly for my 'misdemeanour', but then as you said, if the book was to make any money then mining charities will benefit. Thanks again John.

Thanks again John. No problem Bob. I used to have a web site with the same name as this forum, damned host let me down and hundreds of other site owners. I was rebuilding the site, but has gone now, and I just don't have the time nor inclination to find a new host and rebuild the site. But I did have a section to advertise books etc, and there was no problem as the host allowed commercial advertising. As it was a site, writers like yourself would have contacted me and I'd place the ad plus contact information. But here it's different, Proboards is in business to make money, so they won't allow ads other than what is contracted and paid for.
