I've no idea of any proper answers but what I do know is that Solid Energy has been struggling over recent years much the same as many Australian Coal Miners have, a nifty bit of Chinese footwork has ensured World coal price reductions which has in turn resulted in the demise of thousands of mining related jobs in Australia and obviously affected NZ (and others) badly. Working in Queensland you will be well aware of the effect of low coal prices on the mining industries, not only present day job losses but many investment and expansion proposals having been scrapped or put on indefinite hold. I would have thought that the same coal price cuts and reduced demand will have affected the relatively small organisation of Solid Fuel similarly, they have suffered job losses and are in fact at this moment planning reinvestment funding being made possible by massive borrowing. tvnz.co.nz/national-news/perfect-storm-blamed-solid-energy-s-woes-5368317www.3news.co.nz/Union-welcomes-Solid-Energy-rescue-plan/tabid/421/articleID/315376/Default.aspx
