What happened to NCB Bretby? Mining Research and Development Establishment,Ashby Road, Stanhope Bretby, Burton-on-Trent, Staffs, DE15 0QD Built 1978 on the main MRDE Site Staff of 1000 and budget of 30 Million Pounds in 1984. I believe the offices were sold off. A company I used to work (Building surveyors) for rented an office there back around 2004. I don't know if that helps?

As stated there is a conference centre on the site. Some of the offices are let out to different companies, there is the old laboratory analysis set up which is ESGL (TES Bretby) which still does scientific work for coal mines such as "dust sample analysis" and gas detection repair and calibration.
