Like many miners my father started in the coalmining industry in 1916 he was 14 years old he retired due to Emphysema in 1955 and was bedridden till he died in 1969,
We saw the adverts to make claims for all who had the dreaded disease etc and we made a claim 1998
thats 7 years and out of pocket cashwise between mail and phonecalls etc and today have been told his claim is cancelled as wasnt down the pit a certain length of time
if I remember correctly the adverts asked if you worked with the coal industry and did you suffer from Emphysema or chronic bronchitis ,not any mention of how many years you had to have to qualify so this is the British Governments escape plan
I claimed on behalf of my mother who was alive at the time sadly passed over now for my fathers claim and like many others is denied and who has made all the cash ,,Lawyers who prolong the claims,now after such a long time they asked me today would I like them to claim at a private claim against the government for compensation what good would that do they are determined not to pay people,,,
Seems you have more chance of compensation if your stinky finger is damaged ,I even spoke to two guys who did their mining training and had six weeks underground and then packed it in for another job, , they claimed and recieved £1500 each as an interim payment,in 2002 another scam pay out but if there is people dying or died with the illness they get nothing.
Seems the British Goverment has nuts on the miners yet again,
Never mind we kicked their butts at the big strike it was hard then but harder for the Government they will never have another Tory Government in Scotland dont know about England and Wales.
